VLC isn't that useful to me as an alternative it sometimes freezes on my Windows OS, even in compatibility mode, so I stopped using it. The IFO files were a DVD film and one of a VHS tape copied via Pinnacle Instant DVD recorder. Not always the best solution for me, though considering I'm trying to play these as DVD files. If I convert the IFO into MPEG-2 using mpeg2cut2. KMPlayer was what I used to test the files same result for them on Windows Media Player.Īny IFO files play choppily no picture issues except playback is jerky - the actual picture is fine. Some but not all MPEG-2 files (well, 6 actually) have choppy playback most of them are fine. My current movie player of choice is KMPlayer, and although it plays most MPEG-2 files well (all TS files play correctly), some stutter. I've got Windows 7 Ultimate, and am using an NVIDIA GeForce 9500GT.
